The Queen has addressed the nation. Far from the norm, where we usually have one annual Christmas Day speech. Outside if this, there have only been four other occasion’s for a public address in a 68-year-reign to-date.
I don’t know about you, for me her address resonated. I share below two excerpts that ring true as to what we, as individuals can do to help.
“Today, once again, many will feel a painful sense of separation from their loved ones. But now, as then, we know, deep down, that it is the right thing to do.”THE QUEEN’S TELEVISED CORONAVIRUS ADDRESS (HTTP://OW.LY/RQOC50Z5U1Z)
I don’t think the two events can be compared like for like but it’s true that the spirit remains. We’re social distancing to protect our loved ones and community, as well as to help our NHS by flattening the curve. As the ‘new normal’ continues week after week, it might be helpful to remind us of the why and the who for.

I personally find the Queen’s address reassuring. Though we are yet to understand how badly the UK will be hit. All we can do for now is keep our spirits up, our bodies and minds healthy, our families nurtured and do our bit best we can.
“Together we are tackling this disease, and I want to reassure you that if we remain united and resolute, then we will overcome it. I hope in the years to come everyone will be able to take pride in how they responded to this challenge.”The Queen’s televised coronavirus address (http://ow.ly/RQOc50z5U1z)
